The Architect
Adrian Cross was AmphiCorp’s lead engineer and the mind behind
their heavy cybernetic frames. He lived in blueprints, specs and
efficiency metrics, sure he was building a perfectly optimized
future.
The Awakening
On site he watched a frame he designed lock a kid’s gait into
AmphiCorp’s approved stride. No accident. Spec. He decided that
week he would not build their sterile world.
The Transformation
He sealed himself into his last machine. The titanium chassis with
a polished mirror-chrome finish became permanent armor, hard-coded
to his nervous system. Then he walked off the AmphiCorp campus as
MODFROG — not a broken experiment. A free man.
The Dry Hour
Istanbul. Oil gone gummy. Joints seized between tram and stall. A
noodle cook did not flinch. She waited. He dragged himself to a
press that still rendered mosquitoes. Efficiency had not left him
